Dear Sarah,
This month was full of singing and sickness. Bright, happy days found you laughing hysterically while swinging and playing Ring Around the Rosy with Max and Mommy. Not surprisingly, your brother loves to "help" you fall down! We played over and over as we waited for Daddy to come home. You refused to stop until Daddy walked in the door or you were gasping for breath from so much laughing!
Did you know you have your very own baby theme song? It goes like this:
B-A-B-Y
Baby, baby, she's so fly!
Go, Baby! Go Baby!
Yeah!
It is appropriate for many occasions: wake-up, diaper changes, dressing, bathing, eating, and general merriment. We realized just how often we were singing it when your brother started calling you "fly". Your future may now include a career as a fly girl/back up dancer. This will suit you well because you LOVE to dance and shake. You start movin' and groovin' as soon as you hear music (or even Mommy singing). It won't be long before you can handle a choreographed number! Indeed, my little bunny has developed her own hop. Scooting on your bottom has progressed into a more distinct bottom "hop" as you achieve air while moving rapidly across the floor. Ms. Patty calls it the "princess crawl" because you don't have to soil your hands by placing them on the floor (I don't blame you, kiddo.) You are a much more confident cruiser and push walking toys with excessive speed
Many days were spent unhappy when you developed your first ear infection. And then your second. At the re-check for the first one, it appeared to be cleared out. But the fever returned a few days later and the doctor confirmed number 2. It is equally miserable to be the mother of a baby suffering from illness; all I wanted to do was take away the pain. To make it easier on Mommy, you did consent to more cuddling and rocking than usual.
The 1 year mark is rapidly approaching, Our excitement at discovering your personality is tempered only by our sadness that the time passes so quickly! We love our Gigi!
Love,
Mommy
