A list of our crimes:
Mommy constantly adds "ok" to the end of sentences. Sarah learned to say "no" long before "yes", but "k" is her favorite term of acquiesence AND end of a sentence. After poking me in the eye one day, she very sweetly examined my face saying, "Mama eye k? Eye k?" Other favorites include, "Baby out, k?" and "I play big blocks, k?"
(Clearly she does not know her name.)
Max is attempting to teach Sarah to share. What has she learned to say? "Mine! Mine!" and "Baby's turn". He also says "Whoa!" often so Sarah says, "Whoa, Max!"
Daddy calls group hugs "family squeezes". When Sarah notices everyone is around (whether its dinner, bedtime, or standing in the hall) she will call, "fam-by squeez, fam-by squeez!"
My favorite time is to listen to her after she goes to bed and is lying in the crib talking to herself. We hear a chorus, "Night, moon! Night, Max! Night, Mama! Night, Dada! Love Max! Love Mama! Love Dada!"
Jason was out of town on a business trip and I wanted to make a video to send to him of Sarah saying goodnight. She clammed up as soon as I pulled out my phone and the first video was 20 seconds of smiling instead of talking. She needs a little coaxing on this one, but it helped decrease Daddy's homesickness.
