Indoor Snow Fun

With another week out of school looming ahead of us, this Mommy prepared by making a LONG list of crafts and activities to keep everyone busy. The kids could pick an activity out of the bucket whenever they started getting antsy.

Making Valentine Hearts

Cold treat for a cold day

Snuggles on the sofa

Watching (and singing) "Let it Go" from Frozen

Polar Vortex

The Polar Vortex has certainly produced some surprising weather this year!
Real Snow, Round 2

This storm left 8 to 10 inches - enough for real sledding and all sorts of snow fun!

Abominable Snow Babies!

It's wonderful when your best friend lives around the corner.

Sharing a ride

First trip down the hill!
Whoohooo!

Which way?

Mommies like sledding, too!

Sled Race

Enjoying the ride

Snowballs Ready

Sarah was so happy to see how doggies keep warm in the snow!

Is this really made for snow?

Sure, why not?

Three Musketeers

Making sure it is really Charlotte under all those clothes

Lots of fun with our neighbors!

Family snow days are the best!

House of Pain

Injuries have abounded in our house over the past month. It started with a stocking holder falling on my foot as I put away Christmas decorations, leading to pain and swelling that prevented me from walking and produced fear about broken bones and wearing a boot cast.

A few weeks later, Max woke me in the middle of the night to say that "stuff is coming out of my nose". I gave him a tissue and sent him back to bed, only to discover bloodstains on his bedding the next morning. Poor little guy!

Sarah fell on the stairs and obtained her own bloody nose, as well as some bruising around her eyes, making her look like a prize fighter.

My punishment for laughing about Sarah's penchant for clumsiness was to take my own tumble down the stairs. Again. My back was bruised so badly that I had to call in Mimi to help take care of Sarah for the day.

Thank goodness for Mimi, who helps us in sickness, injury, and health.

Just another day in the House of Pain.

Bingo!

The latest Maxisms:

"Bingo, Bango, Bongo!"

Incomprehensible joke. "Get it? Get it? You get it, Mommy?" Ummm…no.

"What's your name? What's your name Sarah Catherine?"

And Sarah adds her own thoughts:

"Babba, you don't have a twirling dress. I have a twirling dress!"

"Uhh, Mommy, you need to slow down. You are driving too fast. Daddy's drives too fast and goes off the road."

"Mommy, the kitties are lazy. They are lazy kitties. I am going to bring my books in here to read to these lazy kitties."

She proceeds to bring her board books one by one to the master bedroom and then "reads" them to the cats.

"Listen up, lazy kitties! This is a good story!"
