1-2-3-4-5 Months Old!

Max, Max, Max...my five month old baby!
My sweet boy, some of your highlights from the past month include learning to sleep ALL night long, passing a toy from one hand to the other, sitting up (briefly) by yourself, and perfecting the art of grasping. You have inherited your mother's "grip of death", as my former cheerleading partner called it. Unfortunately, you haven't quite figured out how to let go! You are a discerning baby and only grab the really fun things, like my hair, and nice jewelry such as my diamond necklace and Morgan's pearls. You don't care about the cheap stuff! You still love to move. You are so funny at night because you love to turn around in your bed...we never know which way you will be facing in the morning!

Your eating habits are starting to change. Your Daddy has always called you a "connoisseur" because you take forever to nurse even though you can chug a bottle in under 10 minutes. You seemed to enjoy the process of nursing so much that you wanted to make it last! Now, you seem to have developed some trouble concentrating, especially if you hear Daddy. He has been banned from the room while you nurse because you can't stop looking around for him if you hear his voice. You also like to pause often to look up at me and grin. Very cute.

You have started to play in some of your "big" toys, like the Jumperoo and Exersaucer. You are still a little small to really be able to enjoy the toys yet. I think in a few more weeks, you will love to bounce and twist. You are definitely getting more interested in the world around you. And much to our horror, you seem to keep watching the TV! I guess we will have to start turning it off when you are in the room. I'm sure you are just attracted to the flashing lights and sounds of the TV, but we don't want to start that habit yet.

As always, you continue to be a wonderful kid. After five months of enjoying your sweet self, I think I can safely say that you have a happy and loving personality. Every day with you is a blessing. Cheers to another month of your life!

Love, Mommy
