Renovation Nation

Despite the lack of pictures, the house is rapidly taking shape - or rather a new shape! They are currently completing the electrical wiring and plumbing for the entire house. Strangely enough, we did not care for the previous owners' system of allowing wires to hang down from ceilings and walls. We thought that might be a bad idea with a toddler running around.

The last of the demolition:
Looking down the hole from the chimney in one of the bedrooms to the kitchen

Our kitchen has a floor again! Or the beginnings of one...

And doors!

Layouts for the kitchen cabinets outlined on the floor

And walls!
Framing for laundry room and closets

A salute to our hero, John Peery.
Builder. Task Master. Amateur Historian. Great Person.

John explains the history of pulleys from the old windows and demonstrates their weight and craftsmanship. Jason and I marvel at the remarkable specimen and then request windows that will actually function.

The "guts" of the house should be finished in the next week or two and then it is time to start putting it all together!
