The Max Express chugged into Chattanooga for non-stop adventures with the Brinkleys!
First stop: The Brinkley Home
Max arrived for his first visit a bit out of sorts following his surgery the day before. Mama Nell and Daddy Brinkley made him feel at home though and it wasn't long before he warmed up and was circling the house. Watch out for your breakables! Max was very excited to see Aunt "Becks" and accorded her the honor of reading (and re-reading) his new fire truck book. He kept pointing to pictures of Rebecca saying "Becks home!"

Next stop: The Tennessee Aquarium
Much like his father, Max adored the penguins! They were very active and Max would race from side to side of the tank along with them. He also loved the Butterfly garden, the alcove below the shark tank, and trying to feed his goldfish crackers to the fish. Most importantly, the layout was a little boy's dream: a giant sloping ramp that started at the top of the building and wound its way down. Max was too busy running down it to pay much attention to the fish.
Next stop: Aunt Beckers' Birthday Dinner
When choosing a weekend to visit, we decided we couldn't pass up a chance to be with Auntie Beckers to celebrate her birthday! Max delighted in helping Mama Nell prepare the feast. He served as the chief egg counter, observed the measuring, and supervised the mixing. The duo is currently preparing for their debut on The Next Food Network Star. Mama Nell managed to surpass even herself with a princess-theme birthday celebration for Beckers. Mama Nell's red velvet cake=heaven on a plate.
Final stop: Valentine's Day Land
Max had several Valentine admirers, but only one true infatuation. Orville (the cat) won his heart. He loved petting him, following him, pointing out his bed, and asking for him constantly. Orville was remarkably patient with this man child and appreciated Max's efforts to free him from Kitty Jail when company was present.

Thank you to the Brinkleys for a wonderful visit and keeping us occupied while we waited for the results of the biopsy. We were thrilled to spend the weekend with you and share in the birthday fun!
