Dear Sarah,
At your one year check up, you weighed 20 pounds (54%) and 28 1/2 inches (26%). I don't have your head circumfrence, but needless to say it remains large, although now it is decorated by precious curls. I can convince you to wear a bow in those curls for approximately 45 seconds. It's quite the game: Mommy puts bow in. Baby takes bow out. Baby offers bow to Mommy. Baby attempts to place bow back in hair. Repeat. You love to comb your hair and Bean's fur (with different brushes, of course). Sometimes you take your comb to the mural of the kitties and try to use it on Bean's picture. You have a random assortment of five teeth with more sprouting each day.
We have found your sport: Sliding! You have numerous options for sliding both indoors and outdoors. The elephant slide allows you to complete the process totally independently from climbing to sliding to landing. The slide in the playroom offers more of a challenge with a steeper drop. But the outside slide on the playset produces the biggest laughs. You need a grown-up to hold on to you (although Max has offered to assist on numerous occasions) and you grab our fingers to pull us over to the playset as soon as we get outside.
But most of the time, you are the sweetest, most accommodating baby. If Mommy is around, you reach for me and wrap those chubby arms around my neck, then burrow your face into my shoulder and nuzzle. No one else can compete when Mommy is present and your face crumbles if I walk out of the room (I think you manage to recover quickly). You love adventure, especially if accompanied by Max and a cup of milk. Sarah, you are a hurricane of energy going full-force until you collapse into your bed to sleep. Livin' the sweet life. Vive la bay-bay!
Love, Mommy
