Advent: Peace

With Thanksgiving being late this year, our calendar for December looked anything but peaceful. The first (true) weekend of December contained 6 events alone. The week brought some unexpected moments of Peace to savor.

Cuddling on the couch with my precious girl to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: My to-do list for the house still included most of the major decorating, online shopping needed to get done before shipping deadlines, and my desk contained a pile of projects to be finished. But I put it all aside (literally and figuratively) to snuggle with Sarah and watch a Christmas classic. With NO guilt.

Driving in the car to Knoxville for an unexpected trip: The trip was not planned into my schedule, but I was very grateful to have the opportunity to be with my best friend in a time of sorrow. The ride was so quiet without children that it was truly peaceful.

Purring kitties: the world's best therapists can bring peace and calm in any situation.

Listening to Sarah read a book: not reading to her (which is also peaceful) but sitting back to enjoy the blessing of being home with her every day.

Moments of Peace in a week of craziness.
