Max's theatrical debut was in the role of Narrator for his class performance of "The Littlest Christmas Tree."
The narrators had the only individual speaking roles in the production.

The plot involved three fir trees that desperately wanted to be taken home to become Christmas trees.
One family took the tallest tree.
(Musical Interlude)
The next family took the mid-sized tree.
But the smallest tree was still left and felt very sad and lonely.
Until the forest animal decorated it with feathers, strings, and berries...
and a star began to shine above it.
And the littlest tree finally felt like a real Christmas tree. The most beautiful Christmas tree ever! Don't you think so, too?
Max was amazing! The play consisted of two typed pages, which he read perfectly. He also informed us that he was able to read the other narrator's part. His teacher requested that he not share the script with us prior to the play so that it would be a surprise, but he brought the pages home to practice reading on his own. It was wonderful to witness his delight in showing what he could do! I was so proud when the teacher told us he was chosen as a narrator because he is one of the best readers AND one of the hardest workers - I'm not sure which is the better compliment!
The stunning success of the play was followed by Polar Express Day to celebrate the last day before the holiday break. The kids wore their pajamas to class and enjoyed a school sing-a-long before watching the movie in their classrooms. Who better to help with a Polar Express Party than a Mommy who had been on the train the week before?
Golden Polar Express tickets were issued to each student and punched by the Conductor. The kids added marshmallows, sprinkles, whipped cream, and candy to their drinks at the Hot Chocolate Bar.
Who can watch a movie without popcorn?
And finally a bell to take home!
