The Hardins with the Judge
We had to quickly scurry home from Louisville because Monday, March 24th was the day that Darin officially became my nephew! My sister and brother in law have been blessed to adopt TWO wonderful boys...Josh was adopted in 2005 and now Darin in 2008. Both boys were an important part of our family long before the adoption paperwork was completed (it takes so long that it is amazing that it ever gets finished), but signing the papers makes it official...and binding...they can't escape the craziness now! Darin was so excited, yet nervous, during court on Monday. Max also came to court to support his cousin and made sure to voice his approval of the adoption immediately after we entered the courtroom. So we had to walk right back out. We were still able to celebrate at lunch with the rest of our family and friends who love Darin, including his previous foster mom and teacher. Darin chose to change his name to Darin Robert, after my father. He was so excited and couldn't wait to tell the other kids in his class about his new name and big day. The celebration continued on Saturday with an adoption party with Darin's friends. We are thrilled to have added this very special, loving, and incredible child to our growing family. We love you!
An added note: Speaking of blessings, we are so lucky that Max is such a wonderful baby. His ear infection is clearing up and even with a painful ear and congestion, he is still such a good natured kid. He is rarely fussy and charms everyone with those darling smiles and dimples. Even the doctor was impressed by his sweet disposition. He was lucky to have more visitors this weekend when Chip, Morgan, and Leigh came to play with him!

Yea!! I'm so happy for all!
Whooo hoo! I got a shout out on the blog. But really, he was so much fun to play with...and had I not known he had an ear infection, I definitely would not have guessed. Hope to be back over sooner than later!
